Vishwanath Pasayat Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2023
The Vishwanath Pasayat Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2023 was a significant event held from 7th to 8th October 2023. This event was conducted by the University Law College, Utkal University in honor of the late Mr. Vishwanath Pasayat, a distinguished lawyer known for his unwavering dedication and commitment to justice for the underprivileged.
Mr. Vishwanath Pasayat’s remarkable contributions to uplifting the poor and downtrodden earned him the title of a ‘marvel of an Indian’ by Hon’ble Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer. To commemorate this legal luminary, the competition was organized in collaboration with the Vishwanath Pasayat Memorial Committee, Cuttack, under the guidance of his son, Hon’ble Justice Arijit Pasayat, a former Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
The competition saw participation from 18 teams across the nation, making it a prestigious event in the field of law. The moot court was based on the NDPS Act, marking it as a successful and impactful event in the legal education sphere. This event not only honored the memory of the late Mr. Vishwanath Pasayat but also provided a platform for budding lawyers to engage in meaningful legal discourse.
